Some officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command, have been caught on camera brutally assaulting some male students of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro.

An X user, @Official_pere, who posted the video on the social media platform said that the police officers intercepted the students along Campus 2 road while they were returning from school and started brutalising them.

Noticing that they were being recorded while kicking, punching and beating the two students in the video with their legs, hands and sticks, the police officers chased away other students and residents of the area who were watching the commando show of the officers.

Attached with the video, the X user wrote, “See what the police are doing to students in Ozoro Delta state just returning from school.

“I learned the policemen later took them to the station because everyone present there was being chased out so  I don't exactly know where the boys are right now.”

Reacting to the video, the Delta State Police Command asked whoever knows the victims to direct them to report the matter to the Complaint Response Unit of the command.

The Command wrote, “Please whoever knows the victim should pls send him this number 09155570008 or any of our CRU lines @Delta_PoliceCRU.”

When contacted for an update on the matter including the current state of the victims and whether the officers had been identified, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, did not answer calls made to his phone number.

The police spokesperson has not also responded to a WhatsApp message sent to him till the time of filing this report.
